What to Expect

LOCATION OPTIONS:

I have an awesome private location in Tracyton, Washington that belongs to my family. Our 15 acre farm includes a rustic barn, fields and fences, old cars, horses and other crittters (kids love it!), a gorgeous holly tree-lined driveway, and breathtaking mountain and water views. I am also open to go to a location of your choice (extra fees may apply if I travel outside my area)

WHAT TO WEAR:

With families and groups, I think coordinating 2 or 3 colors works better than trying to be too "matchy-matchy". Adding in at least one pop of color is desirable and please try to stay away from too much black (especially close to the face). Hats and scarves are great additions for interesting portraits. Ultimately, being comfortable translates the best.

SESSIONS and WHAT TO EXPECT:

FAMILY SESSIONS are generally about 1 hour long and involve one location and outfit. If you come to me, I like the kids to have the opportunity to run around a bit and see the animals, so often it takes a little longer. I also have a goody basket for the kids at the end of the session (if they give me lots of smiles). Let me know if you prefer that I not offer your child candy or goodies as "bribes". We will be tromping around the farm, so shoes and clothes might get dirty. Pets are a welcome addition for your portraits, but bring a leash and treats for them. Also, please give me a heads up that they are coming. I will send in one picture of your chosing for your yearbook submission.

SENIOR SESSIONS are 1-2 hours long, depending on the number of outfit changes and locations. You can bring up to 4 outfits and I have a place for changing. Instruments, sports equipment and pets can be included in your session but aren't mandatory. Siblings or close friends are welcome to come and be included in a few shots as long as they aren't disruptive. I like getting a shot or two of the parent(s) with the senior as well, but this is optional. We can use a second location, if you prefer.

NEWBORN SESSIONS need to be scheduled for when the baby is less than 2 weeks old. This is when the baby is still all "new", curled, relaxed and sleepy. Theses sessions are more involved and tend to take longer. We often need to stop for diaper changes, feedings, comforting, etc. I generally block up to 3 hours to allow for ample time. Whenever possible, I like to bring the babies outside for portraits, but I also have an indoor set-up. I love to add blankets, toys or heirlooms that you have as a personal touch. I can come to your home, if you prefer.
